The NC ICES November Day of Sharing was held in Charlotte, NC on November 7, 2010. The main focus of the day was a hands-on gingerbread house project, where we constructed and decorated 25 gingerbread houses for donation to Holy Angels in Belmont, NC. Holy Angels is a nonprofit group that provides care to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Each member brought two bags of candy and we pooled our candy resources to create festive gingerbread houses – it was so much fun! In addition to decorating the gingerbread, we had 2 demonstrations, lunch and a holiday “challenge”, where some attendees brought holiday-themed displays to share. Each person who brought a holiday display was entered into a drawing for a special gift. It was a great day of ICES caring and sharing!
